CAPT. RICHARD MORRIS
Capt. Morris began his career with the HISD Police Department in 1988 as a campus officer at Hogg Middle School. Throughout his law enforcement career, Morris has worked in or supervised several areas, including campus operations, gang suppression unit, patrol operations, special response team, criminal investigations, and internal affairs. He also has coordinated special events for the department.
Morris holds a Master Peace Officer certification and is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certified police instructor and special investigator. He is also a charter member of the HISD Police Department Honor Guard. A product of HISD, Morris graduated from Lamar High School.
CAPT. ARTINA WALKER
Capt. Walker began her career with HISD Police in 1999 as a campus officer at Wheatley High School. Walker has experience in campus operations, patrol operations, support services, criminal investigations, and the gang suppression unit. She has worked with elementary schools and conducted student and community trainings on topics such as school bullying, stranger danger, railroad safety, proper and improper touching, and drug and gang awareness. She also has worked with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
Walker holds a Master Peace Office certification and is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certified police instructor. Prior to her tenure with HISD Police, she was a Naval Intelligence Specialist with the US Navy Reserves, a Texas Department of Criminal Justice Corrections Officer, and a pre-sentence Investigator with the Harris County Probation Department.
CAPT. ROBERT BARBOSA
Capt. Barbosa began his career with HISD in 1986 as a computer operator in the Technology Department. After making a career change to law enforcement, Barbosa was assigned to Burbank Middle School as a campus officer. He has since worked in the campus and patrols areas of the department. Barbosa has served as a field training officer and worked in Traffic Enforcement Unit and Community Relations.
Barbosa holds a Master Peace Office certification and is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certified police instructor, special investigator, and mental health officer. He has also completed the FBI LEEDA (Trilogy) Program and is a long-serving member of the HISDPD Honor Guard. A product of HISD, Barbosa graduated from Milby High School.
