On the application form, there is the following language about the possibility for a middle school camp:

• At this time, we have not received funding for a middle school component at the Institute for this summer. However; we encourage middle school debaters to apply so we can notify you if we are able to make the opportunity available again this year. If funding becomes available and we are able to offer the middle school Institute again this summer, we will let you know via email.

middle school debaters are asked to sign-up for two reasons which are (1) having them sign-up now makes it easier to get them into camp if funding is received and (2) even if funding isn’t received, its lets me advocate to HUDL and show there is demand.
