Weekly Updates - January 6th, 2020

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break.  Please see below for this week’s newsletter.

Bookfair – shout out

I want to give a special shout-out to Ms. Sandra Lozano and Ms. Kimberly Buchholtz for their volunteer work.  They both put in long hours each day and helped us set up as well as manage our MIMS bookfair.  Thank you both for giving us your precious time!

Also, thank you, parents for supporting our bookfair.  We sold over $10,000 worth of books!  Every time I passed by the library, I saw many students buying books.  What a great way to promote literacy and encourage reading!

A Successful Story

Tamblyn Lonergan is the first student to complete the Chinese immersion program in the Alpine School District and she is so glad that she committed to learning the language.  While we may all relate that the Chinese language is quite difficult to learn, we all certainly understand that being fluent in Chinese truly opens so many doors and future opportunities. Keep in mind that we will have an immersion trip this Summer to help solidify our MIMS learning. Please be on the lookout for Summer camp posters coming soon to the campus.  Read about her story here.

Morning Drop Off

  1. If you wish to walk your child to the front door in the morning, please park your car in the designated parking area; not in the fire lane.
  2. If you wish to drop off your child and have them walk to the front door by themselves, please use the drop off lane and NOT drive through the parking lot area.  You CANNOT drop off your child in the parking lot area because it is UNSAFE.
  3. If you are in the drop off lane, please stay in the car – do not exit the car because it’ll delay morning drop off.

Thank you all for your understanding and keeping all of our precious children safe.
