Spring Break Update - March 22nd, 2020

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your family are well and healthy.  We realize homeschooling is challenging during these uncertain times, especially when many of you are also working from home and juggling many commitments.  Please realize we understand you and are here to support you in this new endeavor.  Currently, our team is working around the clock to develop our online learning platform and we will release more information about our online learning very shortly.  Please see below for latest updates:

  1. HISD is collecting information of those families that have little/no internet access.  If you have limited internet access, if you can only read this message on your phone, please fill out this survey.  If you know parents/family who fit the profile, please direct them to this survey.
  2. HISD is launching HISD@H.O.M.E. (Home-based Ongoing Mobile Education) that will go online on 3/23.
    • Week of March 23: Students will be able to log in and interact with the digital resources
    • Week of March 30: Curriculum-based lessons and activities will go live
  3. Some of the teachers have already reached out to you about instructions to access their online classroom.  Please follow their instruction to set up your account.  If you haven’t received such instruction, please be patient with the teacher.  The teachers will reach out to you in the coming days.
  4. We are planning for some form of Mandarin Chinese lessons.  More information to come.
