Weekly Updates - April 27th, 2020

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your family are well and healthy.  The following are updates for this week.

1. Starting this week, the teachers will enter “0” for missing assignments and homework.  This is not a campus decision, but a district wide policy.  Previously, some teachers entered “I” (incomplete) or “M” (missing) in the gradebook, but starting this week, teachers are asked to enter “0” for missing assignments and homework.

IMPORTANT:

Your child’s grade average in the 4th grading cycle WILL NOT negatively affect his/her overall grade average.  If the “0(s)” bring your child’s grade average lower than the first 3 grading cycle average, at the end of the semester, Gradespeed will not include the grades in the 4th grading cycle into calculation.

2. The Intent to Return survey went out last Friday.

a) If you haven’t completed the survey, please do so as soon as possible.  You may access the survey here, HOWEVER you will need your child’s student ID to proceed.

b) Some of the email addresses on file were outdated and/or undeliverable.  Ms. Obando and Mr. Milla are calling you to update your emails.  Once the emails are updated, we will make a second attempt.

3. The district is having dialogue about graduation, summer school etc.  I will share that information when they arrive.

4. Please click here for more HISD news.
