HISD will be holding its second annual School Choice Fair on Saturday, April 28, at the Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center (4400 W. 18th Street) from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Designed to highlight schools and programs that still have space available for the coming academic year, this event will showcase up to 85 schools, including magnet, early college, multilingual programs, charters, early childhood centers, and dual language.
Of particular note this year are the Houston Innovative Learning Zone (HILZ) programs, which will be located at campuses across the district and provide top-notch vocational instruction in six different fields of study.
Parents who have not yet decided where to send their children this fall are strongly encouraged to attend. District representatives will be on hand to provide information about how to apply and assistance with the student transfer process.
