Unofficial HISD Board of Education Election Results
November 07, 2011
Incumbent Houston ISD Board of Education members Manuel Rodriguez Jr., Paula Harris, and Juliet K. Stipeche won re-election on Tuesday night, according to unofficial returns reported by the Harris County Clerk’s Office.
The results will not be official until the votes are certified by the Board of Education.
Rodriguez was first elected to represent District III in 2003 and currently serves as the Board’s First Vice President. Harris, the current Board President, has represented District IV since her election in 2007. Stipeche was first elected to complete an unfinished term representing District VIII in 2010.
Rhonda Skillern-Jones was the only candidate to file for the District II seat that is being vacated by Carol Mims Galloway.
Once the election results become official, Rodriguez, Harris, Stipeche, and Skillern-Jones will be sworn into office at the Board of Education’s regular meeting in January. Trustees serve four-year terms.
