Top Six HISD JROTC Graduating Senior Cadets

HISD’s Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program will honor its top six cadets from the class of 2019 on Saturday, April 27, at the Annual HISD JROTC Final Review and Awards Ceremony.  The Ceremony will be held at the Joe Kelly Butler Sports Complex (Indoor Field House) 13755 Main St, Houston, TX 77085 beginning at 10:00 am. The Cadets will be featured leading their respective command groups.

The top six cadets were named earlier this month. They were all promoted to Cadet Colonel, which is the highest rank attainable in the JROTC program.  The top students were chosen from the ranks graduating seniors in HISD’s 23 High School JROTC programs.

Prior to the selection board, cadets received points based upon their scholastic standing (overall grade point average), demonstrated leadership skills, and participation in extracurricular activities.  At the competition, cadets were awarded points for their proficiency on a JROTC curricular-based skills test, an oral presentation, a personal evaluation consisting of military courtesy, knowledge of current events, appearance in their cadet uniform, knowledge of geography, and an evaluation of first-aid techniques such as cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, bandaging wounds, and assisting sick and injured casualties. Let's congratulate Cadet Colonel Nicholas Kramer for being one of the top six.
