Senior SAT Day

All Seniors will be taking the SAT at Lamar on Wednesday, October 16th. We are encouraging all students to use TTM and other free time to prepare for the SAT using Khan Academy’s Official SAT Practice website before the next test. Just 20 hours of practice on Khan Academy has been associated with an average 115 point score increase on the SAT. Practicing on Khan Academy’s Official SAT website also makes students eligible for College Board scholarship opportunities. Scholarships include the $1000 College Board Practice Scholarship for completing 6+ hours of Khan Academy’s Official SAT test prep (150 monthly scholarship awarded) and  the $2000 College Board Improvement Scholarship for completing 12+ hours of Khan Academy’s Official SAT test prep and improving a student’s SAT score 100+ points  (25 monthly scholarships awarded). Please contact Ms. Trendall mtrendal@houstonisd.org in the College Corner or Ms. Walton, the Test Coordinator, swalton@houstonisd.org with questions.
All 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will take the PSAT at Lamar on Wednesday, October 30th. All 9th graders will take the PSAT 8/9. All 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT/NMSQT. This is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for 11th grade. Please check out the College Board website at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/ for more information on how to prepare for the PSAT.
