How Does Summer School Work?
Summer school is in-person only. There are really three types of summer school options for students, Original Credit (student has never taken the course), IBDP Summer School (for students who are IB Diploma Candidates but did not take Algebra 1 in middle school) and Credit Recovery (for students who were previously seated in the course but did not earn credit). Academic Deans will make students aware of the need for summer school. They will send additional notices to student email and parent email on file as grades for this semester are finalized. It is important that students clear all courses for which they have not earned credit in previous semesters. It is not necessary to email your Academic Dean, unless you have not received an email by June 7th and believe summer school is necessary.
Students are allowed one excused absence during summer school. Discipline could result in dismissal from summer school.

- Dates: June: 13, 2022– July 7, 2022
- Days: Monday through Thursday
- Course: Music Media 1A and 1B (two semesters)
- Course: Health (one semester)
2021 IB Pre-Diploma Program Summer School
- Eligible Students: Current Lamar IB Diploma Candidates who did not take Algebra 1 in Middle School, with Academic Dean approval
- Dates: June 13, 2022 - July 7, 2022
- Days: Monday through Thursday
- Cost: $260.00
- Payment Method: School Pay
- Course: PDP Geometry A & B
Credit Recovery (for students who were previously seated in the course and did not earn credit)
- Eligible Students: High school students with Academic Dean approval
- Dates: June: 13, 2022 – July 7, 2022
- Days: Monday through Thursday
- Cost: Free for current Lamar Students.
