Dimitrie Rainey has been selected as the new principal of Thomas Middle School. She has most recently served as principal of Hobby Elementary School. She has been a member of Team HISD for 15 years. She is an experienced leader, having served students and staff as a math teacher at Ryan Middle School, Blackshear Elementary School, and Hartman Middle School; and as a math coach at Cullen Middle School. She has also served as dean of students at Woodson K-8, assistant principal at R.P. Harris Elementary School, and principal of Alcott Elementary School. Rainey holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Administration and Supervision.
