Dear Team HISD:

As we continue to monitor public health conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Houston Independent School District is reinstating all athletic and UIL events, effective Monday, January 25.

All district-level varsity competitions as well as non-district events, including tournaments, will resume as scheduled. Previously suspended sports at the middle school, junior varsity and freshman levels also will resume. This includes middle school cross country, football, swim, and volleyball seasons. Club sports also will be reinstated.

The district is following all guidelines outlined in the HISD Communicable Disease Plan (CDP) with regard to attendance at sporting events. Spectators at campus facilities will be prohibited, and districtwide sports facilities will adhere to limited spectator capacity.

We will continue to monitor the Harris County and City of Houston COVID-19 status information and keep you informed of any additional changes or updates.
