Dear HISD Community:

The Houston Independent School District Board of Education approved the proposed 2022-2023 academic calendar. It adds an additional spring holiday in April and moves the last day of the first semester to before Winter Break.

The calendar consists of a one-week Thanksgiving Break, two-week Winter Break, and one-week Spring Break. Students and staff will be off on Labor Day, MLK Day, Chavez-Huerta Day, and Memorial Day. HISD will also observe a Fall Holiday on Oct. 5 and two Spring Holidays on April 7 and April 21.

As a reminder, next Monday, Feb. 21, is a Teacher Service Day, and there are no classes for students. Students will return Tuesday, Feb. 22.
