Gloria Robayo-Freitag has been selected as the new principal for Reagan K-8. Mrs. Freitag most recently served as the assistant principal at DeAnda Elementary School.
Gloria Robayo-Freitag was born in Bogota, Colombia. She moved to the United States to study Chemical Engineering at the University of Houston in 2001. She knew her calling was education and after completing her ACP program, she began her career as an educator in 2004 at Navarro Middle school as a science teacher. During this time, she also served as the Title III coordinator, Team Lead and Science Fair Coordinator. After three years, Robayo-Freitag was recruited to Project Chrysalis Middle School as their science teacher. She later on was promoted to Instructional Specialist, and Dean of Instruction. During the past 10 years in her administrator role at Project Chrysalis, the school has been the recipient of two National Blue Ribbon Awards, and most recently, the Gold Ribbon Award from Children At Risk.
