Johnatan Guzman was selected as the new principal for Jefferson Elementary School. Mr. Guzman is a proud product of HISD schools and has been an educator for 14 years as a teacher assistant, teacher, and teacher specialist. He recently served as the Assistant Principal at Milby High School and previously at Windsor Village Elementary. His recognitions include being named “Teacher of the Year” in 2013 and 2014. He was also selected to participate in the distinguished HISD MBAE Cohort #2 and Career Pathways leadership program. As part of the leadership team, he led Jefferson Elementary out of Improvement Requirement (IR) status to having a five STAR Distinction by TEA. Mr. Guzman earned his bachelor’s degree in Education (EC-6) from the University of Houston Downtown and his master’s degree in Business Administration with Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.
