• HERRERA PHOTO GALLERY 2012-2013
  • Herrera Library invited families to come to the library on Thursday, June 20th for a Family Read Day.  Students who brought their summer Millionaire Club reading list received a reading certificate, bookmark and a free summer bag.  Students who read at least one book during the event were able to put it on their Millionaire Club summer reading list and earn a reading certificate, bookmark and a free summer bag.  Parents and students were encouraged to check out books from the library to continue reading during the summer to prevent the summer slide.  Parents also had the opportunity to meet the new PTO board for the upcoming school year.  PTO provided the backpacks, activity sheets and a variety of materials for parents.

The Herrera Library is open to parents and students the month of June.  The final Family read day will be July 1st.

Thank you Herrera PTO for your support!

  • FIELD DAY

Students had a blast during field day.  They learned about physical fitness and how to be safe around water this summer.

Thank you Mr. Ovalle for organizing this for our students.
  • BOOK SWAP

Herrera students participated in their third annual book swap.   Students, parents, teachers and Half Price books donated gently used books for the book swap.  Each student was able to pick a book to start their summer reading.  Students have pledged to read at least five books over the summer for Millionaire Club.
  • SUMMER FESTIVAL

Herrera held its summer festival  complete with hot dogs, cotton candy and games.  Students also were able to visit various booths to get information on summer activities.  Students were able to take pictures with HPD's mounted patrol, helicopter and squad car.

Thank you Mrs. Rodriguez and PTO for organizing this event for our students!

  • SPRING PLAY

Students performed their Spring Play, Nerd Herd.  There was acting, singing, dancing and even a drum line.  Many said this was the best Herrera production.  Great job Huskies!

Thank you Mrs. Robinson for all you do for our students.  Thank you Ms. Copeland and Ms. Henderson for all of your help with the play.
