Principal Nastassya White

  • Nastassya White

Nastassya White is delighted to return for my third year at “The Ruby L. Thompson Elementary”, but this time in the capacity of principal. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where I began my teaching career in 2000. I’ve worked in Houston ISD for 24 years, 20 as a teacher and 4 as a coach and a school leader. I am a wife of 19 years and a mother of three amazing children ages 17, 15, and 12. I am also the youngest of three.

I am a proud product of the Houston Independent School District (Burrus ES, Welch Middle School). I graduated from Madison High School, Houston, TX. I furthered my education at Prairie View A&M University where I received a degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Math. I went on to pursue my Masters at Lamar University, whereby I received a Masters in Educational Leadership. I am so excited to put my knowledge to work in the schools that I serve.

I am passionate about creating and sustaining high quality instruction for all students because they deserve it. Teaching means building a lifelong relationship with students, making a difference in a child’s life, and pushing all students to succeed. It also means allowing them to follow their dreams and supporting them along the way and giving students ownership of their own learning. I am also passionate about building leaders that will one day become leaders. That means teachers as well as students.
