As the principal of Askew Elementary, I am thrilled to be a part of the community, where family members are actively engaged in their child’s education, as well as an integral component of our school. I am honored and privileged to lead a dynamic community where teachers and staff cultivate an environment in which students achieve and believe in themselves and their school. We welcome your input, feedback, and support, which will be critical for the teaching and learning environment, and above all, to the success of your child at our school. Together we can continue Askew’s legacy of success.
As a native Houstonian, I am a proud product of the Houston Independent School District and graduate of Mirabeau B. Lamar High School. I began my journey into education at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘Em Horns!) and received my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Learning and Development in 2000. I joined Team HISD in January of 2001 where I spent ten years as an Elementary Educator grades K through fifth. After spending several years as an Interventionist and later as an Assistant Principal, I became the Principal of Askew Elementary in 2011.
When I am not wearing my Principal hat, I am working as a wife and mother to my wonderful husband, William, and loving son, William II.
