    Student Council Representative Application

     

    Student Council is made up of five officers and two or more representatives from each 3rd, 4th and 5th grade homeroom.  Student Council will meet once or twice a month (after school on Tuesdays) to coordinate school and community projects.

     

    A good student for Student Council will:

    • be a good role model
    • maintain grades of A’s and B’s
    • demonstrate leadership qualities
    • maintain good attendance (excused absences and limited tardies)
    • be available after school once or twice a month to attend meetings
    • maintain good citizenship grades (S in citizenship, no office referrals)

     

    If you are interested in being a Student Council member:

     

    Step 1: Permission Slip- Each student interested in being on Student Council must fill out the agreement form on the back of this letter. Signatures from the student, homeroom teacher, and parent are needed. This must be submitted to Ms. Polk by Friday, September 29, 2023.

     

    Step 2: Officer Application- Each 4th or 5th grade student interested in being an officer for Student Council must complete the Student Council Officer Application. The application is available on the Student Council page of the Marshall website (www.houstonisd.org/marshalles) or by going to https://bit.ly/studentco23. QR is also included. Applications must be submitted Ms. Roberts by Monday, October 2, 2023.

     

    Step 3: Teacher Evaluations- When the permission and application forms are turned in,  Ms. Roberts will email the teacher evaluation link.

     

    Step 4: Campaign- Ms. Polk will give each eligible candidate 2 posters to decorate and post around the school. Be sure to include the name and office you want to run for: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, or Historian. You can also design virtual posters to share. Candidates will record brief introductions to play on Election Day.

     

    Step 5: Virtual Election Day After morning announcements, Mrs. Green will share the recorded candidate videos. And the link to vote will be shared with teachers and students.
