Dear Parents,
I am the Resource Teacher for grades k-5 and I am really excited to work with your child this year. I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a double major in Social Welfare and African American Studies, and I am currently completing a master’s program in School Counseling. I have worked with school-aged youth for a decade and I am passionate about learning and providing effective support.
I am looking forward to meeting as well as knowing each student on my caseload and their parents. This year will be a challenging one for our students, however, it is my goal to work collaboratively with each child, their teachers and you to ensure their success. This will be a year of growth!
If you would like to meet with me to discuss your child's performance or any other problems that he/she is facing in class, please let me know so that we can schedule a time to meet. My schedule varies because of the nature of my work, however, if you tell me a day before I can adjust my schedule to accommodate you. Apart from this, you can also e-mail me at SWATKIN2@HoustonISD.org to discuss any concern you have about your child.
