    Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT)

    The Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT) is an organization of educators and parents dedicated to meeting the unique needs of gifted and talented students. TAGT promotes the awareness of the unique social, emotional, and intellectual needs of gifted and talented students in an effort to ensure that they are provided appropriate educational services. TAGT is a state organization that offers scholarships, list of summer programs, and conferences. www.txgifted.org

    National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC)

    The National Association for Gifted Children is an organization of educators and parents dedicated to meeting the unique needs of gifted and talented students. NAGC is a national organization that offers informational resources. www.nagc.org

    Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG)

    SENG is dedicated to fostering environments in which gifted adults and children, in all their diversity, understand and accept themselves and are understood, valued, nurtured, and supported by their families, schools, workplaces, and communities. SENG is an organization of psychologists and specialists in Gifted Education that offers many resources for parents. www.sengifted.org

    Davidson Institute for Talent Development

    The mission of the Davidson Institute is to recognize, nurture and support profoundly intelligent young people and to provide opportunities for them to develop their talents to make a positive difference. The Institute is a non-profit organization that provides fellowships for outstanding applicants and many resources for highly gifted students. www.davidsongifted.org

    The Association for the Gifted (TAG)

    The Association for the Gifted (TAG) was organized as a division of The Council for Exceptional Children in 1958. TAG plays a major part in helping both professionals and parents work more effectively with one of our most precious resources: the gifted child. www.cectag.org

    Odyssey of the Mind/Odyssey of the Mind-Texas

    Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Kids apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program. The international organization, Creative Competitions, Inc, has a website, www.odysseyofthemind.com. Odyssey of the Mind – Texas is an association in the international Odyssey organization. Entirely run by volunteers, OotM-Texas has a state board and six regions that run the Odyssey program in Texas, which includes tournaments, training, and selling pins and t-shirts. www.txodyssey.org
