The K-2 contest is designed as an activity for younger scholars to prepare for upper-level reading competitions and is scheduled in the month of February. The contest showcases award-winning books from a variety of genres. Only students in grades kinder through second may participate in the K-2 NTB Contest. Every Spring, the schools compete with 5-person teams (including one alternate) against other schools from the same district. The team practices twice a week in the library with Mrs. Verma by reading the assigned books and practicing for the competition. 

The team competes together to name the correct title after hearing a single sentence from one of the 30 assigned books. The team that names the most books correctly, wins!
