Eastwood Academy

Eastwood Academy High School was chartered as a relief site for Austin High School. The school provides a multidisciplinary, fully integrated high school curriculum enrolling approximately 425 students in grades 9 through 12. Eastwood Academy provides an accelerated, challenging, college-preparatory curriculum. The school is accredited by the Texas Education Agency. Our big goal is to have all of our students enroll in a 4-year higher education institution of their choice. We celebrate and have great pride in our 100% graduation rate, our 100% acceptance into higher education, and our family-oriented culture. Eastwood Academy is one of only eleven high schools in the district that has received an Exemplary TEA Accountability Campus Rating. In 2011 and again in 2017, we became a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

    Student Body

Eastwood Academy is a school of choice within the Houston Independent School District. None of our students are zoned to Eastwood and choose Eastwood for its reputation of academic excellence in a family-like atmosphere. Each student must provide their own transportation to Eastwood.

    Letter Grade

    Numerical Grade

    Regular GPA Point Scale

    AP/Pre-AP GPA Point Scale

Eastwood Academy calculates ranks at the end of every academic year for freshman and sophomore students. For juniors and seniors, a preliminary rank is calculated in mid-October, and final ranks are calculated in mid-February.

    GPA Calculation

Grade point average is computed using the above quality points. Beginning with 9th grade, all subjects, whether passed or failed, are included in the computation. A minimum of 26 credits are required for graduation according to the Recommended High School program guidelines set forth by the Texas Education Agency. AP and Pre-AP classes are weighted by one quality point. Grades are recorded on student transcripts and grade point averages are computed at the conclusion of every semester.
