Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! My name is Molly Lashway, and I am Memorial Elementary’s assistant principal. I am excited to transition into the assistant principal role from my former role as teacher specialist. I wear many hats on campus including 3-5 parent and student lead, testing coordinator, and safety captain. However, my favorite role is supporting teachers in growing and developing their craft. My job is to ensure your children are safe, happy, and receiving the best-quality education possible.
Prior to joining the Memorial administrative team, I was a teacher for eight years. The majority of my teaching experience is with students in grades 3 through 5 both in self-contained and departmentalized ELA classrooms. My favorite subject to teach was reading—I am an avid reader myself and love to share this joy with students. I think of myself as a life-long learner. I received my undergraduate degree at St. Lawrence University in government and environmental studies and completed graduate studies in Education at Johns Hopkins University. Most recently I completed my principal certification at Lamar University. When I am not at Memorial, I enjoy spending time outside, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family.
I am looking forward to another successful year at Memorial Elementary! Please reach out via email or phone if I can assist you or your child in any way this year.
