Hi, my name is Jamie Lampert. I'm the PALS teacher at Love Elementary School. This is my 4th year teaching PALS at Love ES, and my 8th year teaching in HISD. I absolutely love teaching PALS and I look forward to meeting new students every year and seeing my returning students. one of the best things about PALS is seeing my students grow and mature from year to year.
I'm originally from New Jersey. I grew up about ten minutes from New York City. I moved to Houston in 2012, and I really miss the cold weather and snow from New Jersey. I graduated from William Paterson University of New Jersey and have degrees in Clinical Psychology, English Writing, Elementary Education, and Special Education. I'm certified in Special Ed EC-12, Generalist EC-6, Generalist 4-8, and ESL EC-12.
My husband Justin is also a teacher. He teaches AP Computer Science and AP Calculus BC in Alvin ISD. We got married on March 14th, 2015 aka 3.1415 also known as Super Pi Day,
We have five crazy cats named Hammy, Litten, Gandalf, Sorin, and Cujo.
When I'm not teaching. I really enjoy reading, creative writing, baking, playing video and board games, and photography. I love Earl Gray and English Breakfast Tea, Coffee, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, and fineliner pens. My favorite places to shop are Target, Michael's, and Amazon. My favorite places to eat are Cane's Chicken, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and Freebirds.
When I'm not teaching, I really like to travel. We take a lot of road trips. My goal is to visit all 50 of the United States. I've already been to 45/50 states. My husband and I really love visiting National Parks. Some of our favorites include Dry Tortugas, Carlsbad Caverns, Olympic National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Big Bend National Park, Guadalupe National Park, Zion National Park, and Bryce Canyon National Park.
Next year, we're planning on visiting Glacier National Park, as well as Banff, Kootenay, and YoHo National Parks in Canada. We also love hiking and camping.
