• Our Spanish dual language program follows a 50/50 model where students spend half the day learning content in English and half the day learning content in Spanish. 

    It is our goal for students to be fluent in both languages by the time they complete 5th grade. 

    Our teachers adhere to the following best practices in order to help students meet this goal:

    • Teachers stay in the target language and use visuals, hands-on activities, hand gestures, cross-linguistic connections, and strategic language partners to reinforce meaning. 
    • Partner teachers plan together in order to support one another’s content areas by previewing and reviewing key academic vocabulary in each language. 
    • Students are provided daily opportunities to practice reading, speaking, listening and writing in both English and Spanish.
