Joycelyn Saulter is a proud graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in Mass Communication and a Minor in Sociology. Initially drawn to journalism, Ms. Saulter career path changed once she discovered that she didn’t want to report the news, but she wanted to be part of the change that impacted young children in a way that could be newsworthy.

 
Starting as a 6th-grade Math Teacher at HISD Forest Brook Middle School, Ms. Saulter found her true calling in education. Her time in the classroom not only taught her about high quality instruction but also about the profound impact teachers can have on their students' lives.

Driven by her newfound passion, Ms. Saulter pursued her Masters in Education Administration from Houston Baptist University. With her Principal certification in hand, she transitioned to the role of Assistant Principal at HISD Edison Middle School, where she continued to learn and grow.

Now, after over a decade of experience within the Houston Independent School District, Ms. Saulter steps into the role of Principal with confidence and determination. She is excited to lead and inspire positive change within HISD, making a lasting impact on the lives of students and educators alike.
