    Ms. Javona King, Assistant Principal


    Ms. Javona King is a dedicated educational leader with over 11 years of experience. Ms. King holds a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership from Lamar University. She has a strong background in teaching middle school math for grades 6th through 8th and has spent four years supporting elementary data-driven instructional practices across the district. Ms. King began her career at Berry Elementary, where she significantly improved the math department, bringing about substantial academic gains.

     

    Ms. King’s leadership style is characterized by grace, empathy, patience, and objectivity. She is dedicated to building trust with key stakeholders, a commitment that makes the audience feel secure and valued. Her transparent communication and balanced leadership style ensure that staff and students thrive under her guidance.

     

    Committed to continuous improvement, Ms. King leverages self-reflection and professional learning to stay at the forefront of educational best practices. She is driven by a vision of creating an equitable and supportive school culture where all students and staff feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

     


    Mr. Edis Moreno, Assistant Principal


    A proud graduate from Humble ISD, Mr. Moreno’s passion for education began as an IB student and IB Diploma recipient. His career in education began in Houston ISD at Lamar High School, where he taught U.S. History and World Geography, as well as IB Theory of Knowledge. Mr. Moreno was nominated and received both the Lamar High School and the Houston ISD Beginning Teacher of the Year recognitions. 

     

    From there, his career continued at Sharpstown International School as the Magnet Program Coordinator and 7th Grade Administrator. His priorities included recruitment, application and enrollment processes, and retention for the school’s Magnet Program. His passion for helping middle school students continued at Ortiz Middle School, as he worked closely with 6th grade students and parents to ensure that they were successful not only academically, but socially and emotionally as they navigated and transitioned through this age and time in their lives.

     

    A proud Texas Longhorn, Mr. Moreno received a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Texas at Austin. He most recently has completed his Master of Education degree from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley.

     


    Ms. Kendra Boutte, Counselor


    Hobby Elementary School community! I'm Kendra Boutte, your new School Counselor, and I'm beyond thrilled to be joining this amazing team! With over 21 years of experience in education, I'm excited to bring my passion for school counseling to this wonderful school. As a native of Louisiana, I've recently relocated to Houston and am eager to get to know the Hobby Elementary community. When I'm not working, you can find me spending time with my beautiful daughter, who's also an educator herself! I'm also a proud fur mom to my adorable pup, Piper. In my free time, I love to indulge in delicious Cajun cuisine and explore new travel destinations.

     

    Professionally, I hold a Master's degree in School Counseling from Nicholls State University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support students' academic, emotional, and social growth. With over 12 years of experience as a School Counselor, I've had the privilege of working with students of all ages and backgrounds, and I'm confident in my ability to provide individualized support and guidance. My diverse educational background includes experience as a Special Education teacher, Special Education Chairperson, and middle school English teacher. This breadth of experience has given me a unique understanding of the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. 

     

    With a background in Special Education, teaching, and school counseling, I'm dedicated to creating a positive school culture and climate that fosters a sense of belonging and inclusivity. My goal is to provide a safe, inclusive environment where students can thrive and develop into confident, responsible, and respectful individuals. I believe that together, we can build a village that empowers our scholars to succeed. I'm looking forward to collaborating with students, families, and staff to create a vibrant learning environment where everyone can flourish. I'm committed to instilling core values such as social-emotional support, positive relationships, self-confidence, and respect for others. Let's work together to make Hobby Elementary an incredible place for our students to learn and grow! I'm ecstatic to start this new chapter and can't wait to get started!

     


    Ms. LaTasha Bell, Assistant Office Manager


    LaTasha Bell, a committed professional with over 23 years of experience, has been serving HISD students. A proud graduate of Madison High School, Ms. Bell returned to her community after earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Houston-Downtown. Her extensive experience and dedication are evident in her efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of students and families.

     

    As the Registrar and Office Manager at Hobby ES, Ms. Bell brings exceptional organizational skills and a deep understanding of school operations. Her long-standing dedication to education is matched by her commitment to her family, as she is a devoted parent to two sons. Ms. Bell's passion for her work and community inspires and supports the success of Hobby's students and staff.
