Overview of NES Academic Instructional Model

The New Education System (NES) schools are priority schools that will be provided additional resources and structured support to dramatically improve outcomes for their students. NES campuses offer the following:
- Free before and after school care. Campuses are open from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Increased learning and instruction time.
- Unique instructional model that combines grade level instruction and highly differentiated assignments and activities.
- Students receive additional experiences called" Dyad classes" in categories such as fitness, music and fine arts, 21stcentury media and technology, and hands-on science.
- Eligible students in specific grade levels travel out of state or out of the country.
- Students in grades 3 through 10 take an 'Art of Thinking Course' that focuses on information literacy, problem-solving, critical thinking and communication.
