TExES Content Exam

  • Testing Requirements for Standard Certification

    According to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) the following tests are required to receive standard certification through an approved Alternative Certification Program (ACP). Please review the list below so that you are aware of all the tests that you will be required to take and pass in order to be approved for standard certification. Please note that each exam is currently $116.00.

     
    Content exams specific to the certification that you are seeking must be completed during the Effective Teacher Fellowship selection process. In order to register for a TExES CAT content exam during the selection process, you must qualify for PACT approval or you must already have an approved test registered to your TEA account. For more information on how to register for your TExES CAT content exam using PACT approval, please click here or view.
     
    Please note that PACT is not an actual test, but the approval needed in order to register for a TExES CAT content exam.

    **Each content exam must be taken and passed by May 31, 2019 prior to the program orientation in May for Cycle 40 interns. This is to ensure that HISD-ACP candidates are better prepared to successfully pass the content test and more effectively deliver instruction to HISD students. 


    Core Subjects EC-6:
    (Able to teach self-contained and departmentalized core subjects in grades EC - 6 during internship year)

    (Able to teach all bilingual core subjects in grades EC - 3 during internship year)
