Hi, I'm Ms. Martinez. I was born and raised in Austin, TX. I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from Rice University and worked as a high school English teacher for 3 years. In my free time, I enjoy doing yoga, watching movies with friends, and playing with my 2 cats. I'm very excited to be joining Young Elementary as the school librarian! 

I am Jamiah Smith. I have been in education for 8 and half years. I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston - Victoria. I have taught art for three years, one year in Pre-K, Kinder, and First. I have a passion for working with children. Helping each child progress in all areas of their development—academic, social, language, and motor—is a challenge that I am honored to accept daily. I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures growth in a positive, fun environment.
