Sharpstown Choir and Piano
-
Sharpstown High School is a well-known throughout Houston for football, marching band, speech and debate and many other clubs and programs. Most of them recognized for their dedication and hard work, all but one. Choir.
Ever since 1999, the campus of Sharpstown has been without a choral program until Antonio Ro’sean Langhum arrived to Sharpstown in 2015 as Choral Director reestablishing the choir program. To the credit of the founding members and their desire to begin something great, the Razor Sharps were born. In the Spring of 2015, the varsity choir was made official. Comprised of mainly upperclassmen who were driven by the same love and passion for music, the program flourished.
Through the vehicle of music, Sharpstown is confident it will achieve great things regardless of the socioeconomic instability and community challenges. With the discovery of the hidden talent within our student body, we have accepted the charge to let the world know we are and done hiding.
Our goal as a choir is to gain life long experiences and learn from them. With each opportunity, performance and show that we are afforded, it is our belief we will be taught how to be successful leaders and someday make a difference in our community, school district and society. It doesn’t matter where you come from. You can achieve anything if you put yourself out there. If you have a voice then you have a choice. Don’t be afraid to own the stage!
