Young minds require a solid foundation of knowledge to support future learning. In grades 3–5, our free online elementary school program helps young students learn the basics, acquire study skills, and develop a love of learning that will last a lifetime. The Texas Connections Academy @ Houston (TCAH) online elementary curriculum stresses the fundamentals, and students focus on the core subjects: reading, writing, science, math, and social studies.

The Gifted and Talented Program

The Gifted and Talented program for virtual elementary school students is available for students who qualify, beginning in third grade. When appropriate, advanced younger students may have the opportunity to enroll in these courses or work at a higher grade level.

“Best of Class” Materials

TCAH’s online elementary school curriculum brings together “best of class” materials from leading educational publishers and other content providers. We provide all the texts, lesson plans, and materials—everything you need for a high-quality learning experience at home.

Most elementary school curriculum content for the younger grades is in print, supplemented with online content. As your student advances through our virtual elementary school in Texas, more of the content is delivered online but is still supported by printed materials.

Course Electives and Activities

Texas Connections Academy @ Houston understands the importance of offering elementary course electives and activities to give young students a well-rounded educational experience. Electives cover a wide range of topics, from learning a world language to mastering the skills of daily living to appreciating the arts. Our many activities and clubs also provide opportunities for students to learn by doing.
