Title I Information
Emerson Elementary has a school wide Title I program. Title I is a federally funded program with the intent to improve the academic achievement of students who are economically disadvantaged. The purpose of Title I, Part A is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on the STAAR.
Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Title I funds enable Emerson Elementary School to employ and train highly qualified teachers and paraprofessionals; purchase instructional materials and classroom computers; and sponsor parental involvement activities. To increase student academic achievement, Title I funds also supplement Extended Instructional Day Program and Summer School.
