DRESS CODE FOR STUDENTS
Shirts Middle School – Dark Blue High School – Black
• Short-sleeved, collared, standard polo-style, without emblems, logos, accent, etc. in proper size; no exposed midriff. No V-necks or crew necks T-shirts.
• Only the top two (2) buttons may be left unbuttoned; only one, white undershirt may be worn underneath; and undergarment must not be visible.
Pants All Grade Levels – Khaki style (tan, blue, and black only)
• Must be plain khaki material (no denim, corduroy, sweat pants, painters’ pants, joggers, cargo pants, yoga pants or jeans of any color and no 5th pockets).
• Must fit properly, be worn at the waist, and not be tight nor revealing; no holes, frays, slits, or tears; no elastic cuffs and no rolled up shorts/pants legs.
• Pants pockets must be able to be pulled out.
• No additional clothing may be worn under the required pants.
Belt
• A belt must be worn at all times, appropriately sized and must passed through all belt loops; be solid dark brown or black (free from brads, decorative buckles, symbols, letters, numbers, etc.).
Outerwear
• Plain sweatshirts and jackets only. No hoods, buttons, emblems, or logos of any kind.
• To be worn at all times over uniform shirt with collar visible; not be tied around the waist, nor worn around the shoulders, nor carried.
Must be appropriately worn so that the uniform shirt is visible at all times. Caps/Hoods are not permitted inside the school building.
ALL Scholars
• Solid black, gray or navy sweatshirts (no patterns or prints)
• Solid black, gray or navy jackets (no patterns or prints)
Shoes
• Tennis shoes with the original laces, remain fully laced, tied, and securely fastened at all times; free of inappropriate graphics/writing.
• No opened-toed shoes, flip flops, croc type, slippers, high heels, wedges, flat slipon, boots, etc.
• Socks must be solid color, on at all times and free of inappropriate designs.
Accessories and Grooming
• Hair must be well-groomed, non-distracting and kept out of the face area.
• May wear black, brown, or colorless ties to secure hair back only. No ornamental hair accessories (i.e. colored hair ties, hair bows, scarves, ribbons, barrettes, extensions with metal clips, bobby pins. etc.).
• Hair and eyebrows must be free of shaved and dyed designs.
• Tattoos must be covered before entering the building, and remain covered at all times with clothing or neutral colored band aids.
• No jewelry of any kind.
• No purses, wallets, make-up bags, book bags, and backpacks.
• Make up and finger nails must be minimal and conservative in color, design, and length.
• No lip balm, perfume, etc.
• No sunglasses, cosmetic contacts, lanyards, gloves, or headgear (i.e. caps, hats, headbands, do-rags).
• Visible facial piercings, exposed tattoos, un-natural hair colors and gang paraphernalia.
SPECIAL NOTES
• The administration reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of the scholar’s dress attire and/or determines if dress attire distracts the learning environment.
