Jesseye Brown has been selected as the new principal of Blackshear Elementary School. She was, most recently, the principal of Cullen Middle School, where she decreased discipline by 80%, implemented the NES instructional model, and increased the quality of instruction by teachers. These, and other actions, led to the school going from an "F-rating" to a "B-rating" for the 2024 TEA Accountability, after 1 year of leadership. 

Mrs. Brown is a former principal of Bellfort Early Childhood Center where she increased the number of students reading at-or-above-grade level by 36%, increased student enrollment by 10%, as well as developed community partnerships that produced a new community Spark Park playground and the 2022 PNC Bank Library Refresh. She was also an Assistant Principal at Ortiz Middle School, where she supported IB Programme and Magnet implementation. She was selected as the Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year for the East Area for 2020-2021 and ESO3 First Year Principal of the Year for 2021-2022. 

Mrs. Brown earned her Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction from University of Texas at Arlington and her Principal Certification from Lamar University.
