Application Process

  • Applicants must:

    • Complete the online application that includes personal and professional information.
    • Participate in a formal interview.

    • The Application Window is now open!
      • Complete the application process for ACP Candidate 
      • Be sure to complete your profile within the HISD TRACS platform.
    • Have the following ready for the application and submission when requested:
      • Transcript(s) from ALL colleges and universities attended (including Junior/Community, undergraduate, and graduate)   
      • Professional Resume 
      • Three current references (with email addresses and contact information)
    • Complete the Criminal Background Check: 
      • Candidates are required to complete a background check prior to certification and employment, which meets the requirements in 19 TAC 227.1(b). 
      • A criminal history may jeopardize an individual's ability to teach and/or be employed. 
      • A criminal history may make a candidate ineligible for certification upon completion of an EPP. The individual has a right to request a Preliminary Criminal History Evaluation (PCHE) from TEA.
