Assistant Principal Jacqueline Whitaker-Adams
Jacqueline Whitaker-Adams is the Assistant Principal at Felix Cook Jr. Elementary School. She has been committed to educating the students of Houston ISD for over 20 years. She started in the district as a paraprofessional at Bruce Elementary in 1996. In May of 2001 she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston Downtown and in 2004 she received her Mastered degree in Education Administration from the University of Grand Canyon.
Jacqueline started her teaching career at Issacs Elementary in 2001 as a 3rd grade teacher. She prides herself in building relationships with her students/parents and having effective classroom management. During her first year of teaching she facilitated professional developments on maximizing instructional time and classroom management. During her six years at Issacs Elementary she increased student achievement and help to decrease student behavior. In 2007 Jacqueline transferred to Felix Cook Jr. Elementary School so she could service the community where she grew up. Jacqueline has effectively held positions such as, Magnet Coordinator, Instructional Math Specialist, Teacher Mentor, UIL Coordinator, 4th/5th Math teacher, and self-contained teacher. She is delighted to give back to the community that helped her become the educator and leader she is today.
Jacqueline Whitaker-Adams enjoys learning new and innovated ways of teaching students’ math concepts and helping teachers and students think differently about math.
