Assistant Principal Kesha Dailey-Massey

Thank you for the warm community welcome and it is my pleasure to serve the Felix Cook Jr. community as your Assistant Principal. Education is more than a job to me. It’s a passion that allows me to combine my favorite things: students, mentoring teachers, and strengthening the community for my hometown, Houston. A product of Houston ISD, (Durham Elementary, Clifton Middle School, and Waltrip High School), I attended Sam Houston State University and received a bachelor’s degree in Radio, Television, and Film and Education. Focusing on education and working with some of the most underserved communities in the Houston-Metro area, I have earned the award of Houston ISD Northwest District Teacher of the Year, was a featured teacher for elementary science on Houston ISD’s cable station, and currently serve as an Assistant Principal for Felix Cook Jr. Elementary.
Throughout my 27 year tenure as a teacher, instructional specialist, and campus administrator, I have made it my life’s work to be a positive example for students and teachers by pursuing lifelong learning. My ultimate goal is to be an example to students and teachers that we should never stop learning.
I am blessed to support numerous charities, ranging from cancer research to local animal shelters. I am engaged in the community, where I have raised my five children (Tristen, Micah, Toreah, Noah, and Ian) with my husband, and four dogs (Rhea, Basia, Gia, and Gunner). They are the loves of my life. I have the same expectations for them as I have for your children, who I love as if they are my own. I want to see them excel and become productive human beings who have ample opportunity to become whatever they want to be when they grow up.
It is my privilege to work alongside the parents, community and the many talented teachers and students here! My goal is to continue to provide a supportive climate and culture at Cook Jr. that is conducive to teaching and learning. By doing so, each individual student and teacher can experience growth to their highest potential. I look forward to interacting with all stakeholders in our school community this year.
