    Mission- The Counseling and Student Support Department promotes, supports, and advocates for the academic success and social-emotional wellbeing of all HISD students.

     
    Vision- We are committed to ensuring that campuses are empowered, innovative, and knowledgeable in the area of counseling services and student record policies and procedures.  
      
    The Counseling and Student Support Department provides district-wide support and resources for 286 campuses. The department works in collaboration with counselors, registrars, records clerks, and other individuals providing counseling, guidance, and student support. We aim to ensure students gain academic and personal tools to reach their full potential ultimately resulting in graduation.

    I am so excited to serve as your School Counselor at Ashford Elementary for 2022-23. My background is teaching Special Education (Resource, Co-Teach, Inclusion). I have 22 years of academic experience that includes teaching and counseling elementary and middle school students. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a History major and a Business minor and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University.
