Samyra Rogers has been selected as the new principal for Gregory Lincoln Education Center. She previously served as principal at Pleasantville Elementary School.

She began her career as a mathematics teacher at Houston ISD in 2008 at Holland Middle School. While at Holland, Rogers served in various leadership roles, including as Assistant Principal for three years. During her tenure, she led the math team to double-digit student achievement and growth gains. In 2020, she was selected as Achieve 180 Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year. She earned a promotion to the role of Principal at Pleasantville Elementary during the 2020-2021 school year. Through the Pandemic, she led the school to achieve an "A"-rating with five academic distinctions from the TEA and recognition as the #1 Gold Ribbion Elementary School in the Great Houston area by Children at Risk. 

Rogers earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Prairie View A&M University and holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.
