Ms. Martinez
My name is Maria Teresa Martinez and I am one of the first grade bilingual teachers. I was born in a northern state in Mexico called Durango. I was raised in a small village, or pueblo called Cuencame. I received my early education in Mexico and my formal education at Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila where I received my BS in Science Computational Systems Engineering.
In 1999 I entered at Texas Southern University to study education, then I moved to St. Thomas University through Houston ACP program where I received my Bilingual Teacher Certificate. In 2000 I began my career in HISD as a Bilingual teacher at Crespo Elementary School until 2004. In 2005, I started working at Sanchez Elementary where I was Bilingual Teacher of the year in 2009. I am so proud to be a teacher and Super Latina.
