• Briargrove Elementary School

    Briargrove Elementary School is a primary school located in Houston, Texas.

    Briargrove, which serves grades Kindergarten through 5 and is a part of the Houston Independent School District.

    History

    Briargrove opened in January 1958 at 5300 San Felipe, which was the south side of Grady Elementary School (the campus is now Tanglewood Middle School). The school moved to its permanent site at 6145 San Felipe in fall 1958.

    In fall 2006 the school moved to a temporary site at 5430 Hidalgo; the former school building at 6145 San Felipe was torn down to make way for a brand-new school building. In fall 2007, the school moved to the new campus at 6145 San Felipe which serves the Uptown and Galleria areas of Houston.

    Today, Briargrove serves over 800 students from around the world with over 30 languages spoken. Programs include, Spanish, music, art, gifted and talented (GT) neighborhood, International Baccalaureate (PYP), PALS, and ESL.
