Kelso Elementary is located in the South Park area in southeast Houston.  We are near Martin Luther King Blvd. and 610 South.

Anna B. Kelso Elementary is a School for Social Sciences where we strive to embed this theme throughout our everyday curriculum.  There are 5 components to this program that we teach to our students:

1. History- to help students know their history and appreciate theirs and others’ heritages.
2. Geography- to help our students understand their place in this global society.
3. Linguistics- to appreciate and understand other languages
4. Public Affairs/Political Science- to respect and appreciate the law in school, community, and country, but also know how to change laws to improve the society of which we live in.
5. Economics- to value currency and know how to use it to better enrich their lives
