Emerson School History

  • Plaque On October 2, 1963, Emerson Elementary was opened. The personnel over the years have strived to live up to the renowned name that this building was named after.  

    Ralph Waldo Emerson was a prolific poet, essayist, lecturer, and an advocate of social reform. Emerson believed that not only should we as human beings gain book knowledge, but also gain knowledge through the experiences of life lived. The influences that we get through nature affect the mind which is the same mind that writes and reads. So, we should be creative in our writing and reading for the development of the mind.
