    Dress Code                                            
    The required school uniform is to be worn everyday by all students except for specified events (individual picture day, grade level awards program, Western Day, grade level culminating unit activity day).
    NOTE: On Fridays, students may wear jeans with only a Davila spirit t-shirts such as field Day, CASE or STAAR and only if they had perfect attendance during week. If a student in violation of dress code, the parent will be called to bring the necessary uniform to meet dress code guidelines.

    Hair:  
    Hair should be clean, combed and worn in a style that does not impede vision or distract from instruction. Students are not allowed to dye their hair as this creates a distraction.

    Shoes:
    Closed shoes must be worn and should be appropriate for school and all school activities.  
    Socks should be worn with all types of footwear.  No flip-flop sandals, cleats, clogs, house or bedroom slippers.


    All students are required to adhere to following dress code:

    GIRLS

        •    Navy or Khaki blue jumper, skirt, pants, or walking shorts (Skirts and dresses should come to the knee or longer).
        •    Navy or white school T-shirt
        •    Earrings are permitted, but the school is not responsible if they are lost or stolen.  Earrings should not be longer than one inch.
        •    No make-up.
        •    No dyed hair.

    BOYS

        •    Navy or Khaki pants or walking shorts.
        •    Belts are mandatory
        •    Navy blue or white school T-shirts
        •    Tennis shoes are preferred
        •    No earrings are accepted
        •    No mohawk/dyed/designed hair cut

    Consequences For Not Wearing Uniforms                        
        •    Parents will be called to bring uniform in order to meet dress code guidelines.
        •    The teacher will send a notice home.
        •    Students who repeatedly do not conform to the dress code will conference with appropriate administrator. The administration will contact the parents. The HISD Board Policies and Procedures will guide further action involving parents.
        •    The HISD Code of Student Conduct states that violation of the campus dress code is a Level I offense with disciplinary measures.
        •    Uniforms are available for individuals without resources to pay. A request may be made to the principal, teacher, or school nurse.
        •    Parents and staff are encouraged to donate gently used uniforms when students outgrow them or leave Davila.
