Jennifer Murchison is a proven instructional leader who has had the opportunity to serve as a catalyst for improvement in underserved communities for 18 years. Mrs. Murchison is passionate about collaborating with stakeholders to provide equitable opportunities for minoritized communities and students, root cause analysis coupled with strategic action planning and data-driven instructional practices aimed at improving leaders, teachers, and scholars. During her tenure in the field of education, she has successfully served as a Teacher, District Leader, School Improvement Specialist, Assistant Principal, Dean of Instruction, and Principal, where she has always remained centered in her belief that students' destiny is not defined by their zip code or limited by their unique learning styles. Most recently, she served as Principal of a transformation school in an underserved rural community that had an unacceptable accountability rating for years. Utilizing her commitment to leading the change required to accelerate student growth as well as leader capacity, in one year Mrs. Murchison was able to return the campus to an acceptable accountability rating. Mrs. Murchison obtained her Bachelor in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Master's in Educational Leadership from Houston Baptist University. She looks forward to utilizing the current success of Key Middle to rise to the next level of success.
