  • APPLY NOW FOR 2020-2021

    Applications for the 2020-2021 school year may be submitted now. Parents will be notified of acceptance in March. There are 2 options for applying for a transfer.  Also, there is a new process for Pre-Kindergarten applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Please read below to determine which type of application you will need and to learn about the application process for Pre-Kindergarten.  Applications will be accepted for Phase 1 until January 31, 2020.  At the end of Phase 1, if there are more applications than spaces available in a particular grade level, a lottery will be conducted.


    Option #1-Use this option if you interested in our French Immersion Program.  If you are a parent of a Kindergarten or 1st grade student who would like to participate in the French Dual Language Immersion Program, please complete the paper transfer application here. Please indicate if you already have a child attending Mark White Elementary and that you are requesting a transfer for a language program. You may submit the paper application to OR you may drop it off at Mark White Elementary.  You may also email applications to  To be included in the lottery for Phase 1, you must submit by January 31, 2020.


    Option #2-Use this option if you are currently zoned to Briargrove, Piney Point, Emerson, or Pilgrim and are NOT applying to the French Immersion Program.  If you are a parent of a Kindergarten through 5th grader and would like to enroll, please complete the online application at  Please complete the online application here.  You also have the option of paper transfer application, which can be found here.  You may submit the paper application to OR you may drop it off at Mark White Elementary.  You may also email applications to To be included in the lottery for Phase 1, you must submit by January 31, 2019.


    ***Pre-Kindergarten Process for 2020-2021*** We will now be following the HISD Magnet Pre-Kindergarten application process.  You may use either Option #1 or Option #2 to apply for Pre-Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year.  If you are using Option #1, you will need to also submit and Socio-economic survey and a Home Language survey, found below.  If you are using Option #2, you will submit proof of income and home language online OR you may submit a paper Socio-economic survey and Home Language survey.  The Socio-economic survey and Home Language survey are available on our school website.

    Only students who meet the guidelines for Magnet Pre-Kindergarten acceptance in HISD will be part of our lottery for acceptance notification in March.  The Phase 1 deadline for these applications is January 31, 2020.  Please see the attached Magnet Pre-Kindergarten Enrollment FAQ.  This document will outline the criteria that students must meet to be included in our Phase 1 lottery.  If you would like to enroll your child and DO NOT meet the criteria, applicants will be contacted if there are any additional spots in Pre-Kindergarten after all eligible 4 year old students have been enrolled on the first day of school.


    If you have already submitted a Pre-Kindergarten application, we will be contacting you to complete the Socio-economic and Home Language surveys.
