“E.A. Squatty” Lyons Elementary Gifted and Talented Vanguard neighborhood program

HISD G/T Vanguard Neighborhood programs are designed to meet the needs of the G/T students at their neighborhood, zoned school or Magnet school.  Vanguard Neighborhood K-12 programs provide a learning continuum that is differentiated in depth, complexity, and pacing.  The Vanguard Neighborhood program is designed for G/T students who excel in general intellectual ability in combination with creative/productive thinking and/or leadership ability.

E.A. “Squatty” Lyons’ Vanguard Neighborhood Gifted & Talented Program serves gifted students who are zoned to Lyons Elementary. Our goal is to meet each of our students’ intellectual needs; to individualize instruction according to each student’s ability level. Our curriculum is advanced, differentiated, and varied. All our classroom teachers are GT certificated.

Lyons elementary receives applications year around for parents and students that wish to apply to our program. We have one testinng window in December. Please contact us for more information.
