It is my distinct privilege to serve Atherton Elementary School. We continue to preserve our core values and a strong academic foundation!

Atherton Elementary boasts a proud legacy of excellence as showcased by our most recent accolade. Atherton is a “B” rated campus by the Texas Education Agency and is a top inner city elementary school in Houston located in the heart of Fifth Ward. We know that test scores are one small component of a school's story. Even though the numbers do give a glimpse inside the building, there is so much more that makes Atherton successful, such as project-based learning which focuses on student interests and creativity.

Most importantly, our teachers care deeply for every student in their classroom, and they work hard to meet each child right where they are and move them forward from that place.

 
Again, I am honored to share in this exciting endeavor where everyone has the learning of the child front and center. We exemplify what public education should be everywhere - families, schools and communities working together to propel children forward.
