Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Jackson

Ms. Jackson has been playing instruments since the age of 4 when she started taking piano lessons.  Her mother thought she should play piano because she was always pressing the piano keys on her uncle’s piano.  In the 6th grade, she joined band where learned the trombone.  She continued playing piano and trombone through high school and college where she attended Texas Southern University in Houston, TX as a music education major, where she graduated with honors.   She has been teaching in the Davis Feeder Pattern for 15 years, starting with Jefferson, C. Martinez, Ryan and Lamar (now Ketelsen) elementary schools, before teaching at Marshall Middle School.

She has enjoyed teaching general music (music history and music theory), beginner, intermediate and advanced band and now has the privilege of teaching beginner piano, which has been a pleasant experience.  Students learn various musical styles and cultures, as well as other information about music.  Ms. Jackson’s professional goal is to make sure students reach their full potential musically and hopefully continue learning music once they leave middle school.
